Pursuant to subsection 5.9(2) of the Aeronautics Act, and after taking into account that the exemption is in the public interest and is not likely to affect aviation safety, I hereby exempt FN AIRCRAFT LIMITED PARTNERSHIP BY IT”S GENERAL PARTNERSHIP operating under Part IV and VII of the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), from the application of Standard 625 Appendix “A”, item (28) of the CARs, subject to the following conditions. This subsection requires permits the checking and adjusting air pressure in helicopter floats, and aircraft tires having an operating pressure below 100 Pounds Per Square Inch (PSI) as an Elementary Maintenance task, which are not subject to a Maintenance Release.
PURPOSE:
The purpose of this exemption is to allow the flight crew of FN AIRCRAFT LIMITED PARTNERSHIP BY IT”S GENERAL PARTNERSHIP the approval to check tire pressures on the company’s LearJet 60 aircraft which, exceed the 100 PSI allowed by Standard 625, Appendix “A”
APPLICATION:
This exemption applies only to FN AIRCRAFT LIMITED PARTNERSHIP BY IT”S GENERAL PARTNERSHIP
CONDITIONS:
- Company flight crews must receive and successfully complete training specific to the checking of tire pressures on the LearJet 60 aircraft, as administered by the Director of Maintenance for FN AIRCRAFT LIMITED PARTNERSHIP BY IT”S GENERAL PARTNERSHIP.
- Training will be documented and copies provided to the Minister prior to the flight crew exercising the privileges of the exemption.
- A copy of the most recent revision of the Aircraft Maintenance Manual specifically, sections pertaining to the checking of tire pressures be carried on board the aircraft at all times.
- A copy of this exemption must be carried on board the aircraft during all flight operations.
- Upon completion of a tire pressure check, but at the latest, prior to the next flight, a record of each tire pressure reading will be entered in the Aircraft Journey Logbook and signed by the Pilot-in-command.
VALIDITY:
This exemption is in effect until the earliest of the following:
- CDT at midnight August 4, 2010;
- the date on which any of the conditions set out in this exemption is breached; or
- the date on which this exemption is cancelled in writing by the Minister where he is of the opinion it is no longer in the public interest, or is likely to affect aviation safety.
